Reading for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

Most fellows start with a shorter text to get across the whole syllabus, then settle into Rutter's and Lewis's for the depth the exit examination expects. Dulcan is the one that actually travels to OPD, because its assessment structure and treatment planning chapters map onto how a child psychiatry clinic runs, and a paediatric prescribing guide stays on the desk for dosing and formulation questions. In Indian settings the AACAP parameters are used for evidence positions while the Indian Psychiatric Society guidance is what fellows lean on when adapting those protocols to local school, family and service realities.
