Deepen with Assisted Ventilation of the Neonate during the ventilation-heavy postings, Volpe for neurology, Remington and Klein for infections, and the MacDonald/Ramasethu atlas for procedures. Read NNF guidelines and Cochrane Neonatal reviews; collect thesis data.
Complete a second full pass of Fanaroff and Martin, revise NNF and NRP protocols, and rehearse ventilator graphics, cranial ultrasound and dysmorphology stations weekly. Submit the thesis.

DM Neonatology is a three-year course after MD/DNB in Paediatrics. The NMC guidelines specify four theory papers of 100 marks each along with clinical, practical and viva voce examination, and thesis acceptance is a precondition for appearing. The neonatology practical is procedure- and skill-station heavy, typically covering resuscitation, ventilation and vascular access alongside the long and short cases.

DM Neonatology is a superspecialty course taken after a broad-specialty MD, MS or DNB, so the reading is narrower and deeper. The broad-specialty texts are assumed knowledge by the time you start.
