Entrance exams for nursing courses

  1. AIIMS B.Sc (Hons.) Nursing / B.Sc Nursing (Post-Basic)All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New DelhiInstitute-level national entrance exam for admission to B.Sc (Hons.) Nursing and B.Sc Nursing (Post-Basic) across the AIIMS system of institutes. Remains separate from CUET-UG as of 2026. Conducted independently by AIIMS New Delhi for ~20 AIIMS institutes; not merged into CUET-UG as of the 2026 cycle.
  2. CUET-UG (for B.Sc Nursing at participating universities)National Testing Agency (NTA)CUET-UG is the common entrance test for undergraduate admission to Central Universities and other participating universities/colleges in India. Since around the 2023-2025 cycles it has increasingly been used as the qualifying/admission test for B.Sc Nursing programmes at Central-University-affiliated and other participating nursing colleges, running alongside (not replacing) institute-specific exams such as AIIMS's own test. CUET-UG results have been used for B.Sc Nursing admissions at several central/participating universities from at least 2025 onward; AIIMS, PGIMER and some state/institute exams continue to run as separate, non-merged entrances. Exact list of nursing colleges accepting CUET scores varies by year — verify against the current NTA/university notification before publishing specific college names.
  3. PGIMER B.Sc Nursing (4-Year) and B.Sc Nursing Post-BasicPostgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), ChandigarhInstitute-level entrance exam conducted by PGIMER Chandigarh for its own B.Sc Nursing (4-year) and Post-Basic B.Sc Nursing programmes. Runs as PGIMER's own institute-level exam, separate from CUET-UG and AIIMS.
  4. RAKCON M.Sc Nursing Entrance ExamRajkumari Amrit Kaur College of Nursing (RAKCON), New DelhiInstitute-level entrance exam for M.Sc Nursing admission at Rajkumari Amrit Kaur College of Nursing, which follows the University of Delhi academic calendar for its nursing programmes. Institute-level RAKCON exam; college is affiliated with the University of Delhi's academic calendar. Note: a separate institution, Rufaida College of Nursing (Jamia Hamdard), is sometimes confused with RAKCON in secondary sources — treat the two as distinct colleges.
  5. AIIMS M.Sc Nursing Entrance ExamAll India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New DelhiInstitute-level national entrance exam for M.Sc Nursing admission across AIIMS institutes. AIIMS conducts this as its own institute-level exam, separate from CUET.

Is B.Sc Nursing admission through CUET now?

Partly. CUET-UG scores are used by several central and participating universities, but AIIMS and PGIMER still run their own institute-level entrance exams, and many state admissions run separately. It varies by university, so check the prospectus for the college you are applying to.
