The NMC guideline prescribes four theory papers covering basic sciences, fundamentals of vascular surgery, vascular and endovascular procedures, and recent advances. The clinical/practical component comprises one long case (45 minutes) and three short cases (45 minutes in total), ward rounds discussing four cases (30 minutes), and practical/oral examinations of 30 minutes each on investigative techniques, surgical procedures and overall subject knowledge.
